本作を手掛けたのはザ・クラッシュのドキュメンタリー『ザ・ライズ ＆フォールズ・オブ・クラッシュ』を手掛けたスペイン人監督ダニー・ガルシア。
バンドメンバーのジェリー・ノーラン、シルヴェイン・シルヴェイン、ウォルター・ルー、プロデューサーのマルコム・マクラーレンら周囲の人々のインタビューほか、これまで未発表だったニューヨーク・ドールズ、ハートブレイカーズをはじめとする彼の軌跡が映し出された貴重な映像の数々で構成された唯一無二のドキュメンタリー。
