マイルス自身が、この作品は[マスターピース]と語るソニーミュージック時代の最後を飾るアルバム。ゲストにジョン・マクラフリン、ヴィンス・ウィルバーンを迎え、ニールス・へニング・オーステッド・ぺデルセンを含む北欧のミュージシャンたちと作ったオーケストラ作品。デンマークのトランペッター奏者でもあるパレ・ミケルボルグが作曲している。 1984年マイルスはデンマークの「レオニー・ソニング音楽賞」を受賞しており授賞式でもこの曲が演奏されたという。マイルスはその際演奏に参加してなかったが曲を気に入って再編曲を依頼、1985年1月～2月にレコーディングが行われた。1989年発表作品。 (C)RS
