チックが７１年４月に録音したソロ・ピアノ・インプロヴィセイション第１集。昔、本作を聴いたのが、
私のジャズ体験最初期で、キーのソロ・コンサートやケルン・コンサートと同時期に一緒に聴きます
あったものだったからキースの大作に過ぎてしまい、こちらのチックの作品は聴かなくなってしまった。
しかし、久しぶりに聞いてみると、粒ぞろい小品集であることを再認識しました
ソロの大作が大河小説だったら、チックのこの作品はさながら心のつぶやきをそのまま書き綴った
小物集。ＥＣＭらしい澄んだ高印象的な曲がりが多い。
「サムタイム・アゴー」はＲＴＦの同名曲の録音より先行し、ラテン・タッチで有名
フレーズが登場する。本作がインプロヴィゼイションを標本傾向しているからには、本作録音時に偶然
ふわだメロディーがＲＴＦの同名曲に発展したのだろうか？
もしそうだったら、RTFで有名な曲の誕生の瞬間に我々は立ち会ったことになる。
とりあえず、１曲目の「ヌーン・ソングの出」だしは伸びるで美しいことこの上ない
