伝統的工芸品しな布について
しな布は沖縄の芭蕉布と並ぶ日本最古の織物の一つの伝統的工芸品の古代布です。
他の地域ではなくなった織物ですが、現在は村上地区と山形県の県境の地域で、わずかに
織りあげられてる羽越伝統的工芸品です。
しな布は、しなの木の内皮を糸作りから、全行程手作りで織りあげ、自然繊維のみを使うため、
糸の太さ、色も様々で織りあげると自然に醸しだされる味わいがあり、生地が木の繊維のため、
色があせるのではなく、色が年々濃くなって、深みが増す布です。
