1963年に、イタリア北東部のAsolo（アゾロ）と言う町で、登山用ブーツメーカーとして始まったアルパインスターズ。創業者のサンテ・マッサローロは、世界中に最高の商品とサービスを届けたいという思いと共に、努力したものだけが見ることができると言う、アルプスの一番高いところに咲く花であるStar Alpinaから名前を取りAlpinestarsとした。
1970年代には、モトクロスブーツで世界中を席巻し、ケニー・ロバーツと共にロードレース界でもセンセーションを巻き起こす。
ミック・ドゥーハンはアルパインスターズのブーツと共に、5回のモトGPチャンピオンを獲得した。
現在では、F1でセバスチャン・ベッテルが3年連続チャンピオンを獲得、モトGPでは多くのトップライダーがアルパインスターズを愛用し、MTB、サーフィン等のアウトドアやエクストリームスポーツでも世界中のファンを魅了し続けている。
