[トランスレコードオリジナル再発シリーズ第1回]80年代、日本インディーズシーンを代表するバンド、YBOの1stアルバム(1986年)。北村昌士、吉田達也、KK・NULL。
キングクリムゾン+ディスヒート+キュアーと自ら記したとおりメロトロンを用い、変拍子を多用した複雑な楽曲とヒステリックかつキュートなボーカルで人気を博し当時の日本インディーズシーンを代表する存在となった。1990年にはメジャーデビュー。本作は1986年4月発売の記念すべき1stアルバム「アリエナシオン」に先行シングル「ドグママグラ」を附した8曲入り。
『ALIENATION』に通底するものは、錯乱を意味する現代思想用語由来のタイトル通り、「狂気」である。世に溢れる人の心を癒す歌の類いはここには微塵もなく、人の心を著しく喪失した人間または国家の状態を音楽に照射する。(ライナーノーツより抜粋)
