2020年2月に『イタリアの四季シリーズ』の最終作『Primavera～イタリアの春～』をリリースした、イタリアを代表するマンドリン奏者のマウロ・スクイッランテとギタリストのサンテ・トゥルジ。二人の次なるプロジェクトは、パーカッション奏者にして作曲家であるルイジ・モルレオと、南イタリアを代表するシンガーであり、世界的ピアニストのルドヴィコ・エイナウディから高く評価されている、エンツァ・パリアーラとの新しいカルテット。メンバー全員が、サレントの伝統音楽に興味を持ち、特にエンツァはサレントの伝統音楽を深く追求し、歌って来ました。従って今作は、マウロとサンテが演奏するナポリの香りのするナンバーから、サレント語やグリコ語(ギリシャからの移民がサレントに住み着き、その人たちが使っていた言葉)で歌われるエンツァのナンバーまで、南イタリアの豊かなる音楽を伝える作品となりました。 (C)RS
