#9 モササウルスモササウルスは円筒形の胴体と先端に向かって細くなった頭部、推進力を生み出す長くて扁平な形状をした強力な尾を体に備えており、獲物を捕らえて切り刻む為の後方に湾曲した歯は鋭く、水中を自在に泳ぐ為のヒレ状の四肢をもっていました。
また、発見された化石の中に何らかの生物に噛みつかれたような歯の傷跡がある物も見つかっている事からモササウルスは白亜紀後期の海の覇者として一方的に獲物をしとめていただけでなく、時には何らかの理由で傷を受けるような激しい争いを行っていたと考えられています。
