1983年バークリー音楽大学を卒業と同時に世界デビューを果たした小曽根真。2023年、デビューから40周年の節目を迎え、新たなトリオ“Trinfinity”を結成しました。今回メンバーとして迎えたのは、小曽根と俳優の神野三鈴が主宰する次世代を担う若手音楽家のプロジェクト＜From OZONE till Dawn＞に所属するベースの小川晋平とドラムのきたいくにと。小川ときたいとは2021年より「From OZONE till Dawn」の取り組みをはじめ、ブルーノート東京や各地ホールでの公演、そして新日本フィルハーモニー交響楽団定期演奏会では小曽根のオリジナル作品をフル・オーケストラと共演するなど、小曽根のサイドを固めてきました。こうしたクリエイティヴなステージで厚い信頼を築いた新トリオは、2023年8月にニューヨークでレコーディングを敢行。アルバムは小曽根のオリジナルを中心に、小川晋平のオリジナルも2曲収録。“Trio”と“Infinity”を掛け合わせたバンド名の通り、瞬間瞬間のインタープレイの生み出す化学反応が無限の可能性を感じさせる、瑞々しく鮮烈なトリオ・アルバム。 (C)RS
