◆ 1984年7月28日、東京よみうりらんどオープン・シアター・イーストで行なわれた「ライヴ・アンダー・ザ・スカイ1984」において、ジャコ・パストリアスがギル・エヴァンス・オーケストラのスペシャルゲストとして登場した歴史的な共演音源。
ジャコ自身のコンディションはお世辞にも良いものではなかったが、超絶ベースソロ・パフォーマンスなどではしっかりと観衆を熱狂させた。当時をよく知るファンにとっては、オーケストラ終演後も「Amerika」の独奏を行ない、ベースを天高く放り投げるというパフォーマンスで度肝を抜いたことでもおなじみでしょう。この時期、晩年において最も充実していたと言われるギル・エヴァンスとジャコの強烈な個性とがぶつかり合った貴重な記録。
