ジャズ・ビブラフォンの聖人、ミルト・ジャクソンがドン・セベスキーの雄大なアレンジで贈る1970年代の名作アルバム。本作『Sunflower』は、MJQ解散の2年前にレコーディングされ、CTIからリリースされた
作品です。CTIサウンドとMilt Jacksonと
いうのはマッチするのかなぁ？という感じもしましたが、過度にCTI色が出すぎておらず
、Ron Carter（b）、Billy Cobham
（ds）といった強力布陣です。その他にRalph MacDonald（per）、Jay Berliner（g）、Phil Bodner（fl、afl、picc、ehr）、Romeo Penque
（afl、ehr、ob）、George Marge（cl、bcl、afl、ehr）等が参加しています。アレンジは
Don Sebesky、プロデューサーは勿論Creed Taylor。
僕の場合、MJQや50年代の演奏のイメージが強かったので、かなり新鮮に聴くことができましたね。
