名門の竹岫書院で学ぶ聞人雋(ぶんじんせん)をはじめとする女子学生が青州の山賊である東夷山寨の寨主・駱秋遅(らくしゅうち)に誘拐される。彼が要求したのは女子学生1名につき男子学生1名が身代金を持ってくること。聞人雋は姉の聞人？(ぶんじんしゅ)と取り残されるが、幼馴染の傅遠之(ふえんし)が身代金を持って現れほっとする。ところが、駱秋遅との詩の勝負に勝った彼はどちらか選べと迫られると、庶子の聞人雋ではなく嫡女の聞人□を選ぶ。これに落胆した聞人雋は崖から落ちそうになったところを駱秋遅に助けられ、彼の身の上話を聞くことになり、駱秋遅が青州の守り神として住民から愛されていると知る。/その後、以前の生活を取り戻した聞人雋は竹岫書院で勉学に励むが、女子学生たちからは爪弾きに。そんな中、庶民も参加できる麒麟試験で首席となった新入生が入学してくる。なんとそれは駱秋遅だった！
