ジーンズの起源である『リーバイス』。
1853年にリーバイスの生みの親、リーバイ・ストラウス(Levi Strauss)が自身の名を冠した会社「リーバイ・ストラウス」社をサンフランシスコに設立。
1870年頃、仕立屋のジェイコブ・デイビスと出会い、彼のアイデアであるデニムや綿帆布に金属リベットを使用し補強する手法を用いてズボンを作ることを決意し、生産部門を設立した。ここからリーバイ・ストラウス社は製造販売のメーカーとなった。
これは現在のジーンズの原型となるもので、リーバイスのジーンズの誕生だった。
ジーンズの歴史がリーバイスであるとも言われ、老舗メーカーとして圧倒的な人気を誇ります。
ショート＆ワイドのボックスシルエットや、胸まわりに立体的なゆとりを確保して動きやすくするフロントプリーツなど、セカンドタイプをベースに、インディゴとブラックのデニムとフランネルチェックを切り替えたオシャレなデニムジャケットです。
裏地もフランネルチェックになっていて、袖の裏地にはキルティングを使用、ビッグEタブを使用した、リーバイスらしい細部にも拘ったデザインと、袖にはキルティングの裏地付きで保温性もある機能性も兼ね備わったアイテムです。
